Contributions to the Visiting Nurse Association,
including VNA Hospice and
Meals on Wheels
Contributions to the VNA Foundation support the
Visiting Nurse Association, the VNA Hospice program and Meals on Wheels.
These donations enable the organization to continue to provide
quality care for patients and their families.
Contributions are used to help pay for expenses
of caring for patients and their families, unless specified differently
by the donor. Reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, and private
insurance covers only a portion of program expenses. The
Visiting Nurse Association, the VNA Hospice program and Meals on Wheels
rely on individual, business, and organization donations, as well as
memorial donations and estate planning for support.
Memorial Contributions
The VNA Foundation gratefully accepts contributions
in honor or in memory of a friend or loved one. We are sincerely
appreciative
when one of our patient's families designates the VNA
as a memorial recipient. This is also true for those families who remember an out-of-town
relative or friend with a memorial contribution to us. Friends and
family may group their donations toward any of the memorial
opportunities available. You may make your gift by credit card
online or by mail using the links above.
When making a memorial
contribution, please include the name of the person you wish to
remember, the program you wish your gift to support (VNA Hospice,
Meals on Wheels, etc.) and the name and address of the family member you
would like notified of your contribution.
If you choose to make your gift by mail, please
make checks payable to the VNA Foundation.
Donor and Family Acknowledgement
When a memorial donation is received, a thank you
letter is sent to the person who made the donation. The letter
includes the name of the person remembered and the amount of the
donation and expresses the deep appreciation for the kindness of
those who give, as well as providing donors with a record of their
contribution, which they may need for tax purposes.
A letter is also sent to family members of the person remembered, so
they will know the names of those who have remembered their loved
one. This letter does not include the amount of the donation, simply
the name of the person who made the donation. The person making the
donation may designate which family member is notified.
Gifts in Kind/Designated Gifts
The VNA, the VNA Hospice program and the VNA Hospice Center have new
and/or ongoing need of specific items. (See the list below) Plaques
may be placed with any of these items in honor or memory of a loved
one. While artwork is also appreciated, due to volume and space
limitations, some artwork may be used in areas other than the
VNA Hospice Center or sold with proceeds to benefit the program. For
more information concerning the VNA gift acceptance policy, please click the
